An Elaborate Cheltenham ‘26 Campaign

Done the Chromeye Way: Showcase Skybet ITV7

The Cheltenham Festival is one of the world’s most prestigious horse-racing events. In 2026 it attracted a record-breaking crowd of over 226,000 attendees and generated huge media and marketing activity. Like many teams during the four-day festival, Chromeye’s crew worked around the clock to support high-impact campaigns.

ITV7 — a free-to-play horse-racing prediction competition in partnership with Sky Bet — asked Chromeye to build a fully customizable HTML5 banner-maker template on our Streameye platform. The tool needed to output 20 banner sizes across 6 different offers, with each creative fully editable by the client.

Key challenges and goals were:

  • Delivery within a tight timeline: roughly one week for development.
  • Keep file sizes small to minimise load times.
  • Maintain seamless, fluid 60 fps, browser native animations with no drop in visual quality.
  • Ensure perfectly looping creatives with smooth transitions.

Chromeye’s technical approach:

Chromeye received After Effects animations from the client but chose to recreate them in code to optimise performance and flexibility. Our developers used GSAP, static image and vector assets to produce near-liquid animations while keeping assets lightweight. Rebuilding the animations, instead of using video from AE, allowed editable control over every element. Backgrounds, copy, colours, animated SVGs achieved ultimate sharpness of detail and quality without compromising animation smoothness or load speed.

Outcome:

The result is a premium, fully customisable banner maker that exports animated HTML5 banners in multiple sizes from a set of offer templates. Each element is editable, and first and final frames are identical to guarantee seamless looping.

Chromeye met all deadlines and campaign requirements. During Cheltenham ’26 week, this campaign’s banners delivered over 50 million impressions. With Chromeye’s support, ITV7 and Sky Bet launched their campaign on time and at scale.
